Whether you live uptown, downtown, or in between town living in an urban setting is a Catch22 when it comes to sustainability. While living in an apartment usually takes up less space than a house and allows for pedestrian, bike, and public transportation, yet renters do not always have the option to choose their energy company, do not often have a backyard to garden or compost, and cannot make drastic changes to the home in which they reside. So what is an eco-conscious small scale dweller to do?
This is the question we are trying to answer in our personal journeys towards small scale sustainability. To chronicle our voyage to eco-conscious living and consumption is Urban ECO Nest, a guide to small scale sustainability.
The Mission is to provide a guide for others to achieving sustainability on a humble scale and to educate ourselves and Urban ECO Nest readers on the latest innovations and designs that can impact urban life through interesting tips, tricks, news, stories, videos and the like.
It takes a village to create a sustainable community so please feel free to comment with your ideas on how we can achieve it together!
